America’s Favorite Architecture
: AIA’s traveling exhibit will be on display at Pearl Hall, the new home of the University of New Mexico’s School of Architecture and Planning. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the new building designed by Antoine Predock and view the exhibit of America’s Favorite Architecture. Round trip bus transportation will be provided leaving the Convention Center at 9 am and returning at 1 pm. Additionally, transportation directly to the Albuquerque airport from the school will be provided for those with flights departing on Sunday afternoon.
Cost: $50 per person, early registration; $75 per person, late registration.

 

AIA New Mexico is a Registered Provider with The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Systems. Credit earned on completion of this event will be reported to CES Records for AIA members by the Provider. Certificates of Completion for non-AIA members are available upon request.

WMR DESIGN AWARDS

The Western Mountain Region Design Awards program recognizes excellence in design, planning, and construction of projects located anywhere in the world that are designed by AIA architects registered and licensed in the Western Mountain Region. Entries from multi-office firms are limited to work designed in the office located in the Western Mountain Region.

The intent of the design awards program is to honor the highest standards of design in response to user requirements, site, context, climate, and environment. Each entry, regardless of size or classification, is judged individually on the basis of total design merit.

Awards are given for honor, merit, and citation. The jury will decide the type and number of awards. Certificates will be presented to award winning AIA members in good standing, and their projects will be featured at the Spirit in Architecture Awards Banquet on October 25, 2008.
